Board of Immigration Appeals
- The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) is an arm of the United States Department of Justice.
- Many decisions of immigration judges or the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can be appealed to the BIA, where these decisions can be reversed.
- Most BIA decisions can in turn be appealed to the US Federal Courts or the US Attorney General.
- Most cases that come before the BIA involve removal, but they hear other types of immigration cases as well.
